Dikky delivers a strong, deep and relevant message about the Life in Christ, yet in an unconventional manner that will appeal to all kinds of people. Jackpot isn't about winning a lottery or some cool millions (which is also good), but it's about something worth more than a million: Eternal Life. With smooth lyrical delivery and easy flow, listeners can rap along and enjoy chanting "Mehn I hit a JACKPOT!"

The song was Produced by First Degree, and it was Mixed & Mastered by Dikky.

The lyrics to Jackpot is below:

VERSE 1:
Feeling like I made it to the top... top
Haters waiting for me just to drop
But I ain't dropping cos I'm chilling with the Most High
Only thing dropping is my jamz, go and cop that

Uhh... I don't get it,
I don't get it why they don't get it
That I done made it. Yeah I made it.
Since I let Him in, homie don't you get it?

That I'm past that (what’s that?)
It's like a life hack, mehn I passed death (that’s right).
Cleared up all my debt, I don't owe that (no debt).
Now I'm BLOODY rich, I didn't work that!

Sitting on a goldmine,
Oh my, yeah now the gold's mine.
I don't mean money; I may never have a million
But homie what I got is more than a million.

CHORUS:
Since the day I met Christ, mehn I hit a jackpot!
He gave me His Spirit now He's living in me, mehn I hit a jackpot!
I got Eternal Life working in me nwanne, mehn I hit a jackpot!
Ogbeni this Life no dey ever end joor, mehn I hit a jackpot!

VERSE 2:
Listen up mehn, I got treasures,
Never running down, I can never go broke.
Son of a King, homie I'm a Royalty.
Ruling with my Dad, homie it's a Dynasty.

What that really means is that,
I'm one with the King, homie don't you get that?
He promised He will never leave me, He will keep that.
Mehn, our bond so strong, you can never break that!

I used to do dirt,
Then He cleaned me up, I don't do that (preach boy!).
Shining in the dark like a StreetLight (invading)
He gave me His name, so I stand right.

Now I got authority over empires.
We gone bring 'em all down, homie it's a takeover.
This Empire never going down, we don't retire
Cos we reign forever!

INTERLUDE:
I don't really get it, why they don't get it.
I tell 'em that I made it but they really don't get it.
So I gotta go a little deeper just to explain it.
You may have to listen clearly otherwise you won't get it.

I hear you talking, feeling like a made man,
But you don't understand you never had it made man.
So when you talk about the money, all I feel is sorry.
Money ain't evil, but to trust in it is funny.

All you care about is just the money
And it controls your whole life like a dummy.
You so blind, you can't see that it owns you.
Now you a slave to the things that should serve you.

VERSE 3 (LONG VERSE):
You can't see that it's running you,
However it wants to.
Boy you on a ride, feeling so high
Like you about to hit the sky, and the feeling is so right.

Yeah, I see you smoking weed. Feels like Heaven.
You sipping up that syrup. Feeling so amazing.
Girls all around, popping bottles all night.
Money never been a problem, but you never see the Light.

You never see the Light cos you living in the dark.
When the party is over, you can't sleep in the dark.
Running round in circles, feeling empty like a mess.
Cos you're never satisfied, boy you're feeling so depressed!

You're feeling so depressed, boy you can't lie!
Even though you act like you're enjoying this life.
Mehn I've been there before, it ain't no life.
Living empty, feeling big, but living a lie!

Till I let Him in and He made me different.
Sorry, I mean BRAND NEW, that's why I'm living different.
Pulled me out the dark to the Light, my Redemption.
Now my vision so clear, I got a new perception.

Focus on Christ gave me life, homie Jackpot!
And boy it's easy, you can hit it too, Jackpot!
It's not about a bunch of rules you must keep
Jesus did it all for you. Let Him in, He'll keep you!

Even if you messed up, He won't throw you away (that’s right).
He will pick you up and strengthen you by His Grace.
Cos when you're living in Christ, there's never condemnation.
I'm eternally grateful, got Eternal Salvation!

POST | Step Your Game Up!

STEP YOUR GAME UP!

Over a decade ago when I was still very young and in Primary School, I remember how I and my siblings always pestered my Dad to get us our own Video Game (most of our friends had). He kept telling us we shouldn't worry, he was gonna buy it when we come out first position in class, blah-blah-blah. Long story short, he finally got us the Video Game cos we had been bombarding him with our requests for quite some time. Yeah, you can just imagine the screams, and smiles on our faces. We thanked him, and straight away without wasting any second, PLUGGED AND PLAYED! We had finally gotten the Video Game and all we wanted to do or think was to play the Video Game.

Every moment we spent playing the game was exhilarating. We didn't care if we were losing, especially when we played games like soccer, and fighting games. I mean, what did we have to care about? We were enjoying our brand new Video Game!

After a few months of enjoying the game, personally, I (including my siblings) started getting bored. Why was the boredom and lack of zeal setting in? We were no longer enjoying it…cos we weren't WINNING! Yes, I realized my goal was to win anytime I played, and since I wasn't achieving my goal, I started losing interest in the game. Hmm…does that sound familiar?

Now let's view this through a different lens. Can you remember when you first got Born Again? I mean those who really met with Jesus and their lives made a complete 180°. That feeling of joy you felt and you thought your heart was gonna explode. For some, it did explode and you could see the excess joy flowing out via their eyes. Hmm…I can see someone smiling now (*winks*). For those who have not had the opportunity to be born again, you'll never understand the feeling, and you'll think those who are born again are simply jerks. It only takes an ENCOUNTER with JESUS to get OBSESSED and your life will NEVER REMAIN THE SAME. I urge you to take a step of faith and experience what we are experiencing in Christ…Ok, I'm sorry I had to deviate. Back to the topic. (*smiles*).

Now, remember when you first encountered Christ, it was like you had flames on your butt. You couldn't help but jump around, trying to let the whole world know how blind they are and what they are missing…what you are now enjoying. You were super excited and you didn't care, you just wanted to preach to whoever that cared and didn't care to listen. In your attempt to lead others to Christ, you said both what you were meant to say, and the ones you weren't meant to say. Old friends called you "spirikoko" but you didn't give a freaking frying pan what they thought about you.

But after a while of "initial ginger" and "grah grah", you were no longer feeling your "evangelical efforts". Why? Cos you were not WINNING!…You were not winning souls. Why weren't you winning souls? You might not know this, but you were not winning souls because of your APPROACH! Yes, you were unskillful (if you let me put it that way) in your efforts to evangelize. You approached reaching the lost the wrong way. This is what I call MINISTRY MISTAKES. (You can as well take it as the title of this article *smiles, winks and tongue out*). Everyone of us who had a genuine encounter with Christ has made these mistakes. If not, you didn't really encounter Jesus. Yes, I said it. (*keeps straight face*). If really you are born again, you will be obsessed with the whole "Jesus Thang" to the point where people see you as a jerk. I believe God designed it that way. Actually, the aim of MINISTRY MISTAKES is to announce to the world who you are now, your new identity (in Christ). It was indeed for a purpose. But it has it's expiration date…the moment you stop feeling the zeal cos you ain't winning enough souls, or not winning at all. Let's take a short break here.

I and my siblings realized our aim for playing the game was to win and we weren't achieving it, yet we wanted to keep enjoying the game. But at that point, we knew we couldn't enjoy the game any further until we started winning. So we consulted the game manuals, read about some tips we were missing out. Even at school, we collected "cheat codes" from classmates for some particular games with really difficult game levels. After we had armed ourselves with the vital information we had been missing, we set out to launch it!

As we applied the new tips and "cheat codes", we started WINNING most of our games, and it brought back the excitement in the game! The fun we were losing came back. Boredom evaporated into thin air. Boy we were winning BIG! (Though we didn't win all). We kept sourcing for more tips and "cheat codes" to upgrade our game-playing skills and try out "new moves". It was super exciting! Anytime friends came over to play, we were eager to "flog" them with our new moves to show we were no longer novice, but now PROS IN THE GAME! As long as we were winning, we never lost zeal for the game. Infact, our zeal for the game intensified. Game freaks (past and present) understand what I'm saying. WINNING was (still is) the aim of the game!

Now, we've made our own MINISTRY MISTAKES. We've been pushed by our impulse (not the Holy Spirit) in order to spread the gospel and UNASHAMEDLY proclaim our identity in Christ. But at some point, we were not being fulfilled because we weren't making the impact we desired. Now is the time to stop being a novice and become a PRO IN THE GAME! Let's go back to our "Game Manual" and look for the vital information we have been missing out…yes, those tips and "cheat codes" (*smiles ane winks*). And of course, we have no other game manual for this "Game" other than THE BIBLE. It contains every strategy for any game level (easy, medium, hard, difficult). The truth is; some are still making those MINISTRY MISTAKES, some are losing zeal cos they ain't winning, and some are getting tips from the "Game Manual", applying it, and seeing the results…WINNING of course.

I'm not here to give you any tips, strategy or cheat codes because I don't know which "game CD" you slotted into the "Video Game". But I'm here to refer you to The Book, the Game Manual that has all you need for any kind of game you are playing. And that book remains THE BIBLE. Read it, study it, meditate on it and most especially, study how Jesus played the game cos He was always winning.

However, I have a few general tips I can share. :)

• DON'T JUDGE/CONDEMN: Never tell anyone they are sinners (even though it may be apparent that they are). Try not to tell them what they are doing is a sin…they know that anyway, and they are tired of hearing the same thing from different people. Instead, tell them what they don't know…the Love and Grace of God, or PRAY FOR THEM if you don't know what to say. Prayer still works. (*smiles*)

• HAVE A LOVE PERSONALITY: Love EVERYBODY…the smoker, the drunkard, the fornicator, the prostitute, the homosexual, the rapist, the thief, the murderer, the cultist, etc. You don't know what triggered the lifestyles they have chosen. They are actually good people, you just have to get close enough to see beyond the surface. A lot of them need help but don't know who to talk to.

• DON'T BE RELIGIOUS: Don't always act super spiritual. Be REAL, or you'll be seen as a HYPOCRITE. Don't act like a superhuman, all perfect and never experiencing temptation…even Jesus was tempted in everyway like us. BE HUMBLE! Don't act like you know it all (even if you "think" you do). Also, know when to have REAL conversations without bringing in the "Jesus talk". But keep your conversation clean.

• PREACH LESS: Don't misunderstand this one. What I mean is; don't be a pest cos people get irritated when you are too "preachy". Instead, do the preaching with your actions. Let them know you are REAL, yet you are a Christian in the way you live your life. It's worse when you don't practice what you preach. You don't have to write it on your forehead or broadcast it to the world that you are born again. By your "fruits" you'll be identified. (Talking from experience).

• BE A PEOPLE PERSON: This is my favorite strategy. I had to learn this cos I used to be an introvert…a certified recluse. (Thank God for Jesus *smiles*). Don't be afraid to mix up with the so called bad boys and bad girls (except you are still new and growing in the faith). Be friendly. Be a happy person. Be humourous, don't be "too serious" all the time…SMILE!!! People love being around happy people because they are fun to be around with. Make friends with people you know who actually need Jesus. Be generous. Be the Bible that they read daily. Get close enough to win their trust, because that is when they will respect you, as well as your opinions when it comes to correcting them. Become a great friend to them and they will trust you enough to meet you when they are in need of help or advice, and even tell you their struggles, knowing you will be of help and won't be critical towards them. It's much easier to lead people to Christ this way, but you must be mature in the faith and constantly growing and developing spiritually, mentally and emotionally so you don't get influenced by their negative lifestyles.

Now let's get our cheat codes and tips and start WINNING again. This does not only give us joy, but Heaven is full of joy whenever we win. Get much more vital tips and cheat codes from the game manual (THE WORD) and become a PRO IN THE GAME.

Do have a wonderful weekend!

POST | Peter Walked On No Water!

PETER WALKED ON NO WATER!

Who told you Peter walked on water? Oh, you read it in your Bible? I see…you must have read the letter in the scripture, but you did not get the Spirit behind the letter. I'm here to tell you that PETER WALKED ON NO WATER! And I'll prove it! (*bones face*). I'm going to be interpreting the "parable" you must have read. (Chill, I know it's not a parable…just follow me *shines teeth*).

Ok, you must have read in your Bible, somewhere around Matthew 14:24-33 that Peter walked on water. Hmmm…how true is that? Do you really believe that? If you do, then you believed crap! (Calm down and read on!). Peter would have walked on water only if he weighed the same as a pond-skater or less…but he didn't. I'm sure he was at least 50kg, that should be the average weight of an adult (a physiologic man has a weight of 70kg). So how on earth is it possible for a man with such a massive weight even attempt to walk on water, talk less of drowning? The truth is, it's IMPOSSIBLE! It will only be possible if there was something under his feet, just between him and the surface of the water preventing him from sinking as he walks on water. But for a man to walk on water without anything to support him from sinking, it's super impossible. (Believe it or leave it).

To find out the truth about Peter walking on water or not, let's go back to the Book of Absolute Truth (The Bible) and decipher the "parable". (Be patient with me, I'm getting there! *grins and winks*). Now take a seat while I take you on a ride through MATTHEW 14:24-33, with me, Dikky, chilling at the driver's seat. I have no conductor, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. Oh yes, it's also FREE! (*smiles*).

Ok… (*turns on engine*) fasten your seatbelts! You ready? Now let's roll! Now we are on Matthew 14 road, and v23 tells us about the location of Jesus at a particular time and what He is doing. But at v24, it tells us about the location of the disciples but it also tells us that they are in great danger! At v25, it tells us about the location of Jesus again. This time, He is at the same location with the disciples, and he is also doing something…WALKING ON WATER??? Wait, how did He even get there in the first place, in just a matter of seconds? Now let's have our first stop here. You might wanna drop off at this bus stop, but I urge you to remain in your seats because the journey is just about to get started.

I believe Jesus is God, the omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent GOD! Meaning; He knows EVERYTHING, He is EVERYWHERE at the same time, and He has the power to do ANYTHING, respectively. Now put your hand under your seats, there's a map attached, pull it out and open it. Look towards the east from our current location on the map, and you'll see a John 1 road. From v1 to v5 tells us that Jesus is indeed God and He is THE WORD. At v14, you'll see a confirmation that Jesus is even THE WORD in human form. This means His Word is Himself. If you move further to the east on the map, you'll see a similar road, 1John 1, which confirms everything on road John 1 from v1 to v3 on road 1John 1. Ok, now you can keep your map aside as we continue our journey. Moving from v25 to v26 on Matthew 14 road, the disciples spot Jesus (THE WORD) and fear came upon them, coupled with fear of their present danger due to the raging storm. They thought He was a ghost. Actually, they didn't even recognize it was Jesus. But at v27, Jesus gave them THE WORD (Himself) and the disciples recognized Him (THE WORD)…THE WORD that calms our fears. I hope the ride is getting interesting. Sit back because I'm about to increase my speed! (*changes gear to next level and hits the gas hard*).

Yeah, we are now at v28. This is where most of you (including me, but not anymore) didn't pay attention and missed the action! Peter wanted to be absolutely sure he was seeing Jesus (THE WORD) afloat on water.
PLEASE NOTE: Jesus is THE WORD, and He was walking on water because He was on THE WORD, His own Word. He is in Himself. Hmmm…strange huh? God walks in mysterious ways (pun intended). Jesus knew the disciples were in danger (Omniscient), was always there with them (Omnipresent) but they noticed Him ONLY when they were in danger (hmmm…sounds familiar?), and He has the power to do anything, with anything, and be anything (Omnipotent). With Him, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!

Now, Peter in v28 asks Jesus to give him THE WORD so he can come to Him. Peter knew he could not walk on water, so he requested for an aid…THE WORD! At v29, Jesus gives Peter THE WORD, and Peter steps out of the boat onto THE WORD, standing on THE WORD, not water! That's why he didn't sink! Peter starts walking towards Jesus with the help of THE WORD under his feet. PETER WALKED ON NO WATER! If you think I'm lying, see what happens next in v30! Hahahaha, Peter is sinking!!! Why? Because he decided to step out of THE WORD and walk on water! Why did he do that? FEAR! He was looking at the raging storm and forgot he was safe on THE WORD! (Hmmm, sounds familiar too?). Peter realizes he's sinking and cries out to Jesus (THE WORD) for help. At v31, Jesus saves Peter INSTANTLY! Hmmm, God "walks" in mysterious ways!!!

Jesus told Peter he didn't have FAITH that he was safe on THE WORD, and wondered why he doubted the infallible security of THE WORD, but listened to the raging voice of danger instead, which instilled FEAR in him. How on earth did Peter think he could walk on water without THE WORD under his feet…is he a learner??? Anyway, something else happens in v32. Wow! After Jesus saves Peter, they both enter back into the boat and the storm ceases completely!!! WOW!!! Even THE WORD humbles the raging storm! God "walks" in mysterious ways!!! (*!!!speaks in tongues*!!!).

Finally, at v33, the disciples are fully persuaded that indeed, Jesus (THE WORD) is God! Not just the Son of God, but He is God! That's why they were all in awe and worshipped Him!

Now here goes my point: Peter did not walk on water, he walked on THE WORD Jesus gave him. He started sinking because he stepped out of THE WORD onto water, or should I say into water. Water couldn't keep Peter from sinking, but THE WORD Jesus gave him did keep him from sinking. FEAR made him step out of THE WORD into water, so he started sinking!

BOTTOM LINE: Forget facts (storms of life). Stick to THE WORD, stay on THE WORD! Let THE WORD be your "surfboard" for riding on the waves!

With these few points of mine, I hope I've been able to convince you and not confuse you that; PETER WALKED ON NO WATER! If you are still confused, pray and read the whole article over again.

Ok people, this is our final bus stop…(*turns off engine*). You can now get down, thank you!

POST | Working As A Team In Unity

Hello there, thanks for stopping by. I appreciate. I hope you find this piece interesting and inspiring.

WORKING AS A TEAM IN UNITY.

I want to talk about ONENESS, UNITY, UNIFORMITY, ONE MIND, ONE HEART, etc. Like I said, I just want to talk…I really don't want to preach.

The devil has lost us (Believers grounded in the word of Christ). Non of us can backslide because there is more than enough GRACE to keep us from falling. So if he is trying to make us switch sides and come over to his, he is just wasting his precious limited time. Since he is aware he has lost his grip on us, making it impossible to come over to his side and help his kingdom, he is also aware that we are against it. This means we are threats to his kingdom. But you see, the devil never gives up. He never accepts the fact and truth that he has lost and will always lose. So he strategizes to see how he can AT LEAST minimize the threats, if not stop it completely. But I guess we are way ahead of the game! We know his every tricks. So ain't nothing new when he starts playing any funny tricks.

Now, as a team that carries a particular vision trying to achieve a common goal, we are ONE, just like The Body of Christ…The Church. Individually, we are members of the body, but we are still ONE. If you break a leg, the whole body will have to go to the hospital, so all parts are affected and hindered from performing their duties optimally because one part is down. Why? Simply because all parts are synced with each other and can't do without each other. The devil understands this simple principle, so he tries to 'play dice'…you know, more like a try-your-luck thing. he knows if he can get just ONE member of a team out of sync in anyway, it will affect the team as a whole. Oh yes, individually and as a whole we suffer. We can't progress! For example, you use your hands to fetch water, but if you have a broken leg, how do you intend to fetch water, though your hands ain't broken? You see! The devil knows that if we don't have ONE mind, we are gonna lose it in little or no time. Of course, we most definitely might still be in the faith though, but he would have managed to minimize the chaos we cause in his kingdom, if not put an end to it completely…GOD FORBID! Same thing happend with the Tower of Babel in the Bible. I know it's in the old testament but I rarely ever read my old testament…God help me though. Ok, back to the topic. If we can remember the story about the Tower of Babel, we'll realize that it was just ONE misunderstanding that brought about the unsuccessful end to a "GREAT" project. Just ONE, not two, ten or ten thousand…just ONE!!!

If in a team, there is extinction of ONE mind, ONE goal, ONE vision, ONE heart, ONE love, etc., just forget about anything like progress. It will never happen! As long as there is no MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING, there will be no PROGRESS. If you like, go on a 40 days dry fast, nothing will happen! Oh yes, sometimes we might not always agree, I agree. But somehow, we should find a way to resolve our differences, more like we agree to disagree or whatever, just to come to a central point of agreement. We all have different values, we all have weaknesses, we all ain't perfect. If we come to this realization, we are just taking the FIRST STEP towards progress. Since we all ain't perfect because we got our strengths as well as weaknesses, we should strive to have the same mind as a team. Though we all are IMPERFECT, we should fit into each other, or should I say; sync PERFECTLY! Just like marriage, which involves two IMPERFECT people who fit into each others lives, dreams and aspirations PERFECTLY! In that way, we make up for each others weaknesses with our individual strengths. A stick of broom can't do nothing, and breaks easily. But combine 100 sticks, you clean a whole house and you can't break the broom easily.

No man can survive alone. God made it that way. If not, we'll be conceited in our thoughts and actions. Our weaknesses and imperfections are there to humble us. We all have weaknesses, but if you know you are stronger or better than anyone in any area where they are weak, it's your responsibility to correct, criticize (constructive, not destructive), and PLEASE, do all in LOVE! Very very essential! Also, the one being corrected or criticized should take correction HUMBLY, and improve too. We all wanna carry each other along as a team. Nobody knows it all. If you think you do, then you are living in self-delusion. My best advice to such people; WAKE UP!!! Even if you do, you must not 'show off' or brag like you know something about everything. That's PRIDE and it's an exhibition of IMMATURITY. It causes division within a body or team that's meant to have ONE mind, ONE goal, ONE vision, ONE love. When there is division within a team, there is no progress, therefore no success.

Alright! I have so much to say, but if I continue, I will have to publish a whole book. But I guess the main point has been passed across. So let's all know what we are all about as we work as a team. The devil wants to sow A SEED…JUST ONE SEED of discord in JUST ONE member of the team. He doesn't need more than ONE! It took just ONE hole to bring down the "mighty" Titanic. Once ONE person is out of sync with other members of the team in mind or anything, problem starts. We start stalling instead of progressing. Pride comes in, and at the end, we all get fed up and be like, "Mehn, I'm sick and tired of all this bullcrap! Infact, I'm out!" That definitely will mark the beginning of the devil's victory. You see how he has managed to stop a team fulfilling God's will that is definitely a threat to his kingdom. Just ONE seed of discord!

So please, please and PLEASE, be sensitive to the devil's funny tricks and strategies. he's very cunning. Just A FOOT-HOLD, and he drags the whole body down!

Ok, that's it…I'M DONE!

POST | Facts About Music (Part 3)

FACTS ABOUT MUSIC (PART 3)

Now to draw the curtain on this series: As Christians, it's left to us to infiltrate, or rather invade the music industry (by the application of wisdom) with a lot of REAL MUSIC (Matt 10:16), and not just any kind of music, but one with CREATIVITY and SKILL! (Psalms 33:3). It also has to be attractive to appeal to its listener (Titus 2:10). It's essential we master our art, the art of music. The truth is, if you tag it "gospel" or "christian", it will be overlooked by those who actually need the gospel, the lost... the CONFUSED. (1 Corinth 2:14). It's more like stereotyping oneself. As far as I know, God did not create "gospel" music or "secular" music. He created MUSIC! Even the word 'secular', according to the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary means; "not connected with spiritual or religious matters". It doesn't mean it's evil or ungodly. For instance, I can sing about my country or the crisis in my society in other to give hope, or I can basically sing about my life, experiences I've been through, etc. It's secular but positive and has a message, and in the long-run, you realize it's inspired by God. So as Christians, how do we intend to reach the lost souls, the CONFUSED? To be honest, when you tag your music as "gospel" or "christian", only the "churched" (devoted Christians) will listen to it. This isn't meant to be so. The gospel of Christ is meant for EVERYONE, including unbelievers and non-christians. (Luke 4:42-43, Luke 5:31-32 [AMP], Matt 10:5-7, Matt 15:24, Rom 1:16). In times past, music that have been tagged "gospel" often sound WACK! (just being REAL). Am certain that nobody wants to listen to wack stuff.

Some might think this is a scheme to be more famous, get more fans, etc, but the truth is if the world doesn't know you, how do you intend to take the gospel round the world? [Mark 16:15 (NLT)]. Don't get me wrong, am not saying fame should be the aim, NO! All am saying is, if you are good at what you do, people will recognize you. But have this in mind, as a minister of God in MUSIC, your primary aim is to win souls, give hope, encourage the CONFUSED. Your secondary aim is to make good music skillfully by optimizing the gifts God put in you and your talents (Psalms 33:3). You have an EXCELLENT SPIRIT, so everything you do MUST be excellent! [Daniel 6:3 (KJV)]. You must also make your music have spiritual depth, which means you MUST maintain a steady intimate relationship with your creator, STUDYING God's word constantly alongside PRAYER! (Very essential). Forget religion. I hate religion! Christianity has nothing to do with religion in any way, but it's a lifestyle... just as the CONFUSED have a different lifestyle. Religious people are mostly hypocrites (if not all). They follow doctrines/traditions devised by men and not of God, and infuse it to the system of the Church, thereby making God's word useless! (*shakes head*) [Col 2:20-23 (MSG, NLT), Mark 7:5-9 and 13]. That's why Christianity doesn't seem to be fun, which is not true. Being a Christian is so much fun, more than you can ever imagine. Let's leave that for now, that's a whole different issue to be dealt with in another article. (*smiles and winks*). A good friend of mine defined music like this: M.U.S.I.C = Me U Sing In Christ. I guess you now know what I mean. That is REAL MUSIC, not CONFUSED! You may not neccessarily sing about anything christian, yet it's positive, inspired by God. It could be funny and entertaining but not dirty or vulgar. God loves humour (Job 8:21, Psalms 2:4, Proverbs 17:22).

When we all get to Heaven (by the special grace of God), we shall be praising God with music (not gospel music). Am talking about REAL music. What people see as the main or real kind of music is so CONFUSED, and the more they dwell on confused music, the more confused they become, living in deceit. That's how powerful music is and the devil knows this. Let's all come together and give hope to a confused generation. Let's go back to the times when music was still real and played a vital role in our moral standards. Let's discourage confused music but encourage confused artists to become real artists, being the appropriate role models for the younger ones coming after them. Let's open the eyes that have been blinded by the devil. God is REAL, satan is CONFUSED! With God in your life, you'll discover the real you and affect your world with the REAL stuff. Let's put an end to garbage music. Christians, God has left this in our hands. The world is waiting earnestly on us. Let's save our CONFUSED world! (Romans 8:19).

...the END.

POST | Facts About Music (Part 2)

FACTS ABOUT MUSIC (PART 2)

As I stated earlier in the previous part of this series, satan is using this powerful tool called MUSIC which he mastered while in Heaven, against the advancement of God's Kingdom here on earth. It seems as if he's winning, but I know this is not true. God is still raising men today, (by the grace of God, am one of them).

Now, a lot of "religious" people see some genres of music as evil and of the devil because of the way it's being used in the world today. E.g; Hip hop, rock, etc. Well, I guess it's because it's more of noise than music, but according to these scriptures (Psalms 66:1-2, 95:1-2, 98:4-6) just to mention a few, God also enjoys JOYFUL NOISY MUSIC! That's REAL MUSIC! (*grins*). Am fully persuaded that ALL things (including music of various genres) were created by God and are pure and good. (Rom 14:14). In times past, different styles of music have evolved over time into newer ones, creating entirely new genres of music. But the problem is its usage. If one thinks hip hop and rock can't be used to glorify God, but genres like soul and R n B can, then I wish to inform such persons that there are a lot of soul music and R n B that are not POSITIVE and do not glorify God in any way. Try imagining a wine glass being used to drink hot egusi soup, or using water to fuel your automobile, or washing your mobile phone by immersing it in a bowl of water with detergent. Now you get the gist. It's just a misuse or abuse! (*sighs*). Same with any kind of music. For instance, sex is good! It was created by God for a purpose (to be enjoyed ONLY in the confinement of marriage). But when it is misused or abused, it's no longer sex but either fornication, adultery, homosexuality, incest, rape, etc. The end of such actions are always destructive because of misuse/abuse (Prov 16:25). Now can you see how CONFUSING those analogies are? That is exactly how CONFUSED MUSIC looks, maybe not to you, but to its creator. GOD CREATED MUSIC, SATAN CORRUPTED MUSIC. Music is music, it depends on how you use it. If its use is POSITIVE, its REAL MUSIC. If negative, CONFUSED MUSIC. THERE IS NOTHING LIKE "GOSPEL" MUSIC OR "SECULAR" MUSIC. Music is music, and serves a general purpose, which is BEING POSITIVE. It MUST add something positive to its listener. Even if it's a love song, it should be done from God's perspective because GOD IS REAL and THE WORLD IS CONFUSED! All thanks to Mr. satan. (*frowns and shakes head*).

The truth is; artists involved in CONFUSED MUSIC who sound really good are gifted of God. [James 1:17 (NKJV)]. But the issue is they are not using that gift for its actual purpose (misuse/abuse). If we can critically observe our world today, we should realize that majority of the world's problems are as a result of the kind of music being dwelt on… negative, CONFUSED music. If this world is going to get any better, then we need more positive music, REAL music. Music to encourage, teach, give hope, correct, preach, etc (Psalm 98:1-6, Ecc 7:5 [NKJV], Eph 5:19, Col 3:16, Col 4:6). It must not neccessarily be all preachy or have a "religious" approach all the time, but inspired by God, still carrying a positive message.

If I say "am not a gospel artist", please don't be shocked. Sincerely, I've been working on this article long before Lecrae announced the release of his mixtape, "Church Clothes". So don't think am trying to take sides with him because am his biggest fan, NO! But am happy he poured out what's been on my mind on his mixtape though. Big ups to Lecrae by the way. (*smiles*). In music today, one is known for always singing about money, yet we don't call him/her a money artist. Another always sings about sex, yet we don't call him/her a sex artist. You hear a rap artist always rapping about his "bling bling" and he is known as a rap artist, not a"bling bling" rap artist. But when one sings about the gospel, he/she is called a gospel artist? Same with sports. A lot of devoted Christians are into sports, yet we don't hear of a Christian athlete, or Christian basketball player, or Christian soccer player, etc. Back to music, I believe every artist has something to say. They talk about what they believe and live by on their songs, including Christians. So I don't think the whole "gospel" or "secular" tagging makes any sense, but we can differentiate the REAL ARTIST from the CONFUSED ARTIST.

POST | Facts About Music (Part 1)

FACTS ABOUT MUSIC (PART 1)

Music is a very essential aspect of life. It can be applied to almost anything and everything around us. It's quite sad a lot don't actually understand how powerful this tool called "MUSIC" is. Very often its usage is misused.

Before I go ahead, let's understand the origin of music; its original use, its kind, style (genre), etc. If you believe in God Almighty, the creator of the whole universe, then you should believe that this same God created music. We all should know that everything God created, including we humans, have a purpose to serve.

Music comprises of different genres ranging from pop, soul, jazz, rock, country, punk, R n B, hip hop, salsa, techno, classical, reggae, afro-beats, etc. It might shock you to know that "gospel" is not a genre of music in any way. Yeah, I know a lot are already getting me misunderstood. Please let me land before you crucify me! (*Laughs*).

First of all, we know God Almighty created music, and from the scriptures, music was (still is) used for various purposes/occasions such as birthdays, weddings, to praise God, to appreciate people, to express oneself, or simply just for entertainment. But have this in mind, that in all things, the music MUST be POSITIVE! What do I mean by positive? I mean it can be listened to by everyone (including children), and it doesn't contain garbage like 95% of the music in our world today getting air plays… just being REAL.

Now back to the origin of music. We remember that Lucifer (now satan, the devil) was once an angel in Heaven who was in charge of other angels, and most importantly, in charge of MUSIC! He was so good at music and he was beautiful, more beautiful than other angels. I guess he was full of himself and wanted to dethrone God Almighty. As a result of his pride (which is evil), God cast him down out of Heaven with other angels whom he badly influenced to take over Heaven from God. Those angels are now demons (Rev 12:7-9, Matt 25:41). I guess you know the whole story (that's if you ever attended sunday school as a kid). For the benefit of doubt, you can look up these scriptures: Isa 14:12-19, Ezek 28:13-19. Now, this fall of Lucifer is responsible for the kind of garbage music we hear today. The devil and his angels (demons) are really at work! He's now using this tool called MUSIC which he mastered while in Heaven to get back at God and destroy humanity (the very image of God he desired), but the gates of hell shall not and will never prevail… AMEN!

Today, music filled with garbage is now regarded as the main or original kind of music, and the very few, actual original kind of music, especially the kind used to praise God and give him glory which we call "gospel", is now regarded as sub-standard. I guess am about to touch down now, please just bear with me.

Through out this write-up, I will be referring to the so called "SECULAR" music as CONFUSED MUSIC, and the so called "GOSPEL" music, inspirational, or any other kind of POSITIVE music as REAL MUSIC. You might be wondering what am up to… you'll know soon. (*winks*).
